All of our hearts here at CHS go out to the families of the children killed recently in a fire in north Minneapolis.  We don’t just provide corporate apartments Minneapolis, but are also local…members of the community.  We truly cannot express how sad we are to hear about the accident.  No one is quite sure yet how the apartment fire started, but the family’s loss is tremendous.  The father managed to save a few of the kids before the smoke became too heavy.  Five, however, were lost, between ages 18 months and 8 years.  The community has opened up to them, with over 200 attendees to the funeral.

While here in corporate housing Minneapolis with us, you should take a trip out to the State Capitol building.  It is located nearby in Saint Paul.  You can get a guided tour for free!  It is a truly beautiful building, built in 1905 by Cass Gilbert, the same architect who did the U.S. Supreme Court in Washington D.C.  One of the most incredible parts of the structure is the sculpture of horses done by Daniel Chester French and Edward Potter.  French is famous for, among others, his sculpture of Lincoln at the Lincoln Memorial.  If the weather is good your tour will take you to see them up close and allow an amazing view of the city!

Apostle Island National Lakeshore - Great Weekend Getaway From Corporate Apartments Minneapolis

It is a bit of a drive, but we have a great weekend trip for you, if you are here in our corporate apartments Minneapolis for the winter.  It has been cold enough this winter that a rare natural wonder is reachable!  We are talking about the Ice Caves at Apostle Island National Lakeshore.  It is located north of Minneapolis on the shore of Lake Superior.  When temperatures dip and stay at this level the shore actually freezes enough that the park rangers open it up to walk to nearby caves, usually only accessible via boat.  Social media has created a frenzy and hordes of people are making their way up to see the caves, smashing record attendance already.
